Methodology
How the numbers call the game
Power rating
Everyone begins at 1500. Ratings move after every match based on the pre-match chance of winning. Unexpected wins move ratings more. For 2v2 and 3v3, team strength is the mean of player ratings and the result adjustment is divided among teammates.
Expected record
Expected wins add each pre-match probability. Win delta compares actual wins with that opponent-adjusted expectation.
Schedule strength
Schedule averages your opponents’ ratings before each match. For opponents who were provisional, we use their rating immediately after they first reach ten evidence games. Until then, their original pre-match rating is used. This is calculated within your selected filters and does not change power-rating updates.
Giant killer
The least likely underdog win, using pre-match ratings. Every participant must have an established rating before the match in the selected filters. A singles winner must be rated below an opponent; a winning team must have less than a 50% chance based on the average rating of each team.
Sample guardrails
Ratings are provisional before ten evidence games: singles/free-for-all count as one, doubles as one-half, triples as one-third. Use the minimum-games filter and always read consistency beside its scored-match count.
